Tommy and I and the kids spent Memorial Day weekend in Hilton Head with my parents. It was such a nice little vacation. We spent lots of time in the sun and in the water. We started our weekend off at the beach. They both loved the water and playing in the sand. I have never been much of a sand lover, but that gets thrown out the window when you have kids. I think everything was covered in sand by the time we left the beach. Emily liked to "ride" the waves in her little floating ring. She didn't even mind to much when she got smacked in the face with waves!
On Saturday we spent the morning out on Pop Pop's boat. It was a nice day with some clouds, which were nice since we weren't getting in the water. We road down Broad Creek to Sea Pines in search of dolphins. We found several. It is always fun to spot the dolphins coming out of the water. Cole got to stay home with La and relax. Maybe next year he will be ready for a boat ride.
On Sunday we spent part of the day at the beach and then headed to the pool. Again it was a fun filled sandy day. When we left the beach we went to the Island Club pool where Emily was able to show off all her great swimming skills. She is getting so good at swimming and has no fear. She does a great job wearing herself out.
On Sunday night we had a nice Memorial Day cookout at my parents club. It was such a nice night with some great food. Emily and Cole wore there red, white and blue and I must say looked pretty stinkin cute!
Overall we had such a great visit. Tommy and I even got some time to ourselves and celebrated our Anniversary a week early with a great dinner at The Old Fort Pub and enjoyed a beautiful sunset. We are looking forward to heading back to Hilton Head at the end of July to meet the Chromeks for another fun filled weekend!
